2/ Loch Ness. This is the best kept secret in Scotland, the Loch Ness monster out of its anecdotal museum identifies various appearances of Nessie, the monster who would stay in the lake 300 meters deep on the Urquhart Bay. But just talking about this legend, is to offend the insolent beauty of the Highlands home to more than 500 lochs (lakes). The ruins of Urquhart Castle dominates the landscape on the north shore of Loch Ness also empty as the visitor. By going to Loch Ness do not forget your camera, you never know!

3/ Immortalized in the film Braveheart, with Mel Gibson as the main hero, the famous Battle of Stirling Bridge has allowed in 1297, the Scotsman William Wallace lead his country to victory against the English. The National Wallace Monument overlooking the battlefield can trace the life of the national hero until his trial whose outcome was decided by Edward I of England.

4/ Robert Burns Birthplace Museum. How to understand Scotland without having read the writings of Robert Burns? This poet (1759-1796) is one of the symbols of the country. In the house-museum where he was born, the famous Burns Cottage, you can see the original manuscripts, including his most famous poem, Tam o'Shanter. This lengthy text tells the story of a man who, after spending all evening in a pub with spring funny hallucinations, hope this is not the case in a few days.

5/ The heart Neolithic Orkney is a World Heritage Site. The archipelago comprises 70 islands with breathtaking views. This is one of the most impressive prehistoric sites in Europe. By visiting the islands, we find menhirs, monuments and older than 5,000 years prehistoric settlements, including the town of Skara Brae amazing. Local food alone is worth the trip also.

6/ Golf. This is Scotland who invented the sport and its rules. In the natural cradle of the country, more than 500 golf courses are listed. Some championship courses are among the most famous in the world, St Andrews, Muirfield and Gleneagles. The course, maintained like royal carpets are often hilly tracts along the rugged coastline. Musselburgh, is the oldest golf course in the world, it is open to the public, it is here that played, among others, Mary Stuart.

7/ Whisky. It is in Scotland that focuses the largest number of distilleries in the world, more than 97 active. For enthusiasts, Scotland is the global benchmark for diversity of characters and flavors. Five regions share the whiskey making: the Lowlands, Speyside, Highland, Campbeltown, Islay and islands. Their productions are gathered in one place in Edinburgh, is the Scotch Whisky Experience, which houses the largest collection in the world with more than 3,500 bottles.

8/ Cairngorms National Park. In these tracts of wild among the largest in Western Europe nature, Cairngorms National Park is a haven for wildlife. 27,000 square kilometers of mountains, forests, lochs, rivers and moors, the Cairngorms are populated by golden eagles, otters, killer whales badger or hawks. 10/ The Highland Games are sports events that take place throughout the year. Celebrating Scottish culture, they are cultural and sporting heritage of the Highlands. Perpetrated for over 300 years, these traditional games affect both the sport, culture and society. Traditional dance competitions, parades bagpipes, but also start trunks, hammer, tug of war etc., are among the oldest Highland Games disciplines.
