These eight islands where it is important not to put your feet



  • What are the worst islands in the world, those that under no circumstances, ever, we must put one foot? We have selected. We start with the island of Great queimada (photo above), Brazil. Covering an area of ​​230,000 square meters, this piece of land has no fewer than 230,000 snakes more or less venomous snake ... or 1 per square meter!




  • Izu Islands - Japan. The archipelago consists of several small volcanic islands, including the sweet name of Miyakejima. The countless volcanic eruptions and release of sulfur dioxide made ​​the air unbreathable. In 2000 the atmosphere was so nightmarish that the island was evacuated and cordoned off for years. Today things seem to have changed, if wearing a gas mask at all times ...




  • Clipperton Island - Pacific Ocean. This is a piece of French rock lost in the middle of the ocean, with a dozen trees. A cursed island. In 1906, the Mexican government decided to establish an exploitation of guano (fertilizer-based bird droppings). The people of the small island were completely dependent on supplies from the Mexican Navy. In 1914, the Mexican army, too busy its revolution, completely forgot to bring food and fresh water to hundreds of people. So that almost all of them died of hunger and various diseases. On 18 July 1917, an American ship rescued the last survivors, 4 women and 7 children.




  • Ball's Pyramid - Australia. It is the island with giant insects. Located near the coast of Australia, the island-shaped peak is full of insects, such as a stick insect species up to 15 cm long ...




  • North Sentinel Island - India. Officially administered by India in the Bay of Bengal, the island of 72 square kilometers is controlled by the Sentinels, a people refusing any external contact. Foreigners may pass from life to death. For failing to comply with this rule, adventurers fishermen had their charges: they were killed by poisoned arrows. Access is completely closed to the public. The helicopter which was taking this photo is also targeted by a man armed with a bow.




  • Gruinard Island - Scotland. The island populated sheep would never have to suffer or be distorted if the British Army had decided in 1942 to test the anthrax bombs on a population of sheep. As expected, the sheep were particularly bad reaction to these poisoned gifts and basements of the island too. After years of quarantine, the government began in 1986, a decontamination process. Since then, the sheep have reinvested the scene, but not necessarily the public.




  • Island Poveglia - Italy. This small island in the lagoon of Venice was in Roman times a place of isolation of victims of the Black Death. Then, over the centuries, it is a psychiatric hospital that installs on the island of Poveglia. Horrific legends tell about the place that makes chilling. Closed in 1968, the hospital is today, as the island abandoned.




  • Hashima Island - Japan. This is a piece of rock in the middle of the Pacific. In 1810 a major coal mine is operated on the island of Hashima Japan. Heights of buildings were erected to house the hundreds of workers, the place quickly became the most densely populated in the world. Today, the island is the rusting and abandoned vegetation. We meet sometimes even famous actors: a scene from the latest James Bond film, "Skyfall," was filmed on the island.
